The Finishing Packaging Associate ensures that all finished products are properly packaged and prepared for shipping to customers. This role performs duties such as diagnosing issues and performing cosmetic repairs, inspecting defective parts, performing quality control procedures, and preparing parts for transportation with packaging and stretch wrap materials and equipment.

 

FLSA Classification: Hourly non-exempt

Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $13 to $16 per hour

Work Hours: 7 am to 3:30 pm

Reports to: VP of Manufacturing

Location: 100% onsite

 

Essential Duties

  • Clean, prepare, and inspect finished fiberglass tubs for any defects and ensure that they meet quality standards.

  • Package finished tubs according to customer specifications, using appropriate materials and methods to ensure safe transport.

  • Accurately label and mark packages for identification and tracking purposes.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure that all packaging supplies are well-stocked and track a comprehensive written record of work performed.

  • Operate packaging equipment, such as shrink wrap machines and tape dispensers, and perform routine maintenance as needed.

  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Successful trade or vocational school completion 

  • Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to act competently in emergencies.

  • Valid driver's license

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in the fiberglass industry 

  • Technical ability, problem-solving mindset, good practical skills, manual dexterity

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, and lift heavy objects for an extended period of time.

  • Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • Repeat the same movements while wearing PPE the entire day.

  • Bend or twist their body and move and lift at least 50 pounds.

  • The employee spends most of the day on their feet and must follow strict safety rules.
